bridal shower @ the chocolate cafe
In case you missed it, Jacob and I are getting married in August! Exciting stuff (and only a little bit stressful lol)! We got engaged in May 2018 at our favorite place, Goodale Park, and it was seriously perfect. I had NO clue that a proposal was coming, so basically, I bawled my eyes out. Don’t worry. After Jacob pulled out the gorgeous ring, he pulled out tissues from his other pocket <3.
Anyway, when we started planning, we knew we wanted to use The Chocolate Cafe for some part of our wedding. They have the most delicious desserts and we love going there. After much deliberation and contacting practically every bakery in Columbus, we decided that we were going to get a dessert display for our wedding from The Chocolate Cafe. As we sat down for our cake and dessert tasting, we saw a group of women having an adorable baby shower at the front of the cafe. That’s when my mom and I decided that The Chocolate Cafe would be the perfect location for my bridal shower!
Since I have the best family ever, I had hardly any part of the planning process (shout out to Aunt Nancy, Aunt Debbie, Aunt Rosie, Aunt Linda, Kelsey and my mom!), but I think it was super easy. My amazing sister, @createwithkelsey, even designed the invitations!
We had the front part of the restaurant to ourselves and my family set up adorable decorations before I arrived. They chose to have a brunch buffet with flatbreads, salad, wraps, fruit, and my favorite— A WAFFLE BAR! We also had all the desserts, including chocolates from the dessert counter!
I filled up my plate with all of my favorite things, including a waffle covered in chocolate sauce and strawberries. Being the graceful person I am, I went to cut my waffle into a bite sized piece and the whole thing flung onto my white dress! The ladies at The Chocolate Cafe helped me out with some seltzer water and my sister (and maid of honor) helped me out by forcing me to wear a bib. Fingers crossed I don’t have this problem at the actual wedding LOL!
After eating all the things (and only spilling on myself one more time), we opened presents. My family and friends showed up with the most amazing and thoughtful gifts. My sister collected all the ribbons and bows from the gifts and made this adorable hat for me. What do you think of my new look? Wedding ready for sure!
The bridal shower was truly a perfect day, all thanks to The Chocolate Cafe and my friends and family. Stay tuned to see the amazing dessert table they are creating for our big day!
