the story of arch city tavern
Have you ever wondered why Columbus is referred to as Arch City? At the turn of the 20th century, there were dozens of wooden arches that lined High Street lit up by beautiful lights. These arches have since been recreated, but still line High Street today. Arch City Tavern used those famous arches as inspiration for their restaurant.
Arch City Tavern, located in the Short North Arts District, specializes in fresh, locally-sourced, hand-crafted food and drinks. The inside of the restaurant is trendy, upscale, and features a giant mural of Old Columbus and her famous arches. Oh, and their food is DELICIOUS!
They have a small menu, but it’s small for a good reason. The owners Georgi and Koli work very hard with their chefs to make sure that all of the items on their menu are perfect. They offer many specials that change seasonally and they take a lot of pride in their food. Their personal favorites are the lamb sliders (which I got a was obsessed with), the bison burger and the fig pizza, but if I am being honest, you can’t really go wrong when you come to Arch City Tavern!
They have a great happy hour, Monday-Friday from 3-6. They offer half priced drafts, wine, and pizzas. AND if you go on a Monday, they have $5 burgers (their burgers are to die for) and I don’t really know what more you could want...
If you haven’t had the chance to check them out, what are you waiting for?!
